Florida Statute 784.048 defines Cyberstalking as "engaging in a course of conduct to communicate, or to cause to be communicated, words, images, or language by or through the use of electronic mail or electronic communication, directed at a specific person, causing and serving no legitimate purpose."
784.048 Stalking; definitions; penalties.--
(1) As used in this section, the term:
(a) "Harass" means to engage in a course of conduct directed at a specific person that causes substantial emotional distress in such person and serves no legitimate purpose.
(b) "Course of conduct" means a pattern of conduct composed of a series of acts over a period of time, however short, evidencing a continuity of purpose. Constitutionally protected activity is not included within the meaning of "course of conduct." Such constitutionally protected activity includes picketing or other organized protests.
(c) "Credible threat" means a threat made with the intent to cause the person who is the target of the threat to reasonably fear for his or her safety. The threat must be against the life of, or a threat to cause bodily injury to, a person.
Stalking of any kind creates serious danger and trauma for its victims. Frequently, stalking or cyberstalking takes place as part of a continuum of other crimes of sexual violence or interpersonal violence.
Stalking is also used by perpetrators to harass and intimidate victims. Often, stalking precedes kidnapping, homicide or sexual battery, so intervention and safety planning are essential for stalking victims.
Do you know of someone who is cyberstalking?
Here's one for you...

Do you know this person? She is a known animal rights terrorist. She has known connections to ALF (Animal Liberation Front). Her site "Life and Liberation" contains specific information against persons engaging in "Legal" activities for the specific purposes of "harassment." That her site has been essentially repeated and linked to ALF makes those persons she is identifying a potential target for terrorists groups and constitutes "credible threat." She lists her name as "Holly Kern" on the website, but that's not who she really is. She goes under many aliases... Johnna Lachnit, Johnna Strange, Johnna Olson. We know she was married to a Douglas Lachnit and has ties to Raleigh, NC. She is divorced and supposedly restored her maiden name. She resides in Albuquerque, NM.
We know her and her current boyfriend run a shelter in Corrales, NM. He has ties to the community and writes for the Albuquerque Journal. He could be dangerous, so be careful. We have more information, but we don't want people to get the wrong idea or take the law into their own hands. Contact your local law enforcement if you think you may be a victim of cyberstalking that might be related to the above mentioned persons. Help put these criminals behind bars.
An important note: PETA has handled the press for the Animal Liberation Front (ALF), a violent, underground group of fanatics who plant firebombs in restaurants, destroy butcher shops, and torch research labs. The FBI considers ALF among America's most active and prolific terrorists groups, but PETA compares it to the Underground Railroad and the French Resistance. More than 20 years after its inception, PETA continues to hire convicted ALF militants and funds their legal defense. In at least one case, Court records show that Ingrid Newkirk herself was involved in an ALF arson.
PETA is not an animal welfare organization.
PETA spends less than one percent of its multi-million dollar budget
actually helping animals. The group euthanized (killed) more than 1,300
cats and dogs in 1999 alone, preferring to spend its money on cheap publicity
stunts and criminal defense, rather than finding animals suitable homes.
The FBI calls these criminal groups a "serious domestic terrorist threat."
